George Henry "Steve" Stevens, age 94, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in Brookhaven, Pennsylvania.
He was the cherished son of George Henry Stevens, Sr., and Letitia Daisy Stevens. His only sibling, Rebecca Stevens died before George was born. Born on June 9, 1931, George attended West Berlin New Jersey Schools and furthered his education at Frederick Douglas Intermediate School in Seaford, Delaware, and later graduated from Jason High School in Georgetown, Delaware. He joined the United States Army and was granted an honorable discharge.
George was employed by Delta Airlines, Bell Telephone (Verizon), and even worked driving a shuttle for SEPTA after retirement. His gift of music led him to study at Settlement Music School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with his dear friend Bobby Grayson.
Dad was loved throughout Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. He was known for his love of music and will be remembered for being the life of the party and the loudest in the room. His vibrant spirit, infectious energy, and unmistakable presence brought laughter and joy to every gathering. He was cherished by those who knew him and left behind countless memories filled with music, stories, and celebration.
George is predeceased by his mother and father, infant sister, Rebecca Stevens, granddaughter, Paula Denise Armstrong, grandmother, Mary Cannon-Green, grandfather, George Woolford.
He is survived by his daughters, Diana Lee Jones of Seaford, Delaware, and Gina Renee Harris-Smith of Brookhaven, Pennsylvania; and his son, Steven Harris of Chester, Pennsylvania, and a host of Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and a bonus niece, Marylynn Harris of Houston, Texas.
