George H. Stroyan Jr., 77, of Boyne City, passed away on August 17, 2025 at Munson Medical Center.
George was born on July 16, 1948, in Detroit, the son of George and Jean (Knepp) Stroyan.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he earned a Bronze Star. He was also an active member of the Trinity Fellowship Church in Boyne City for over 25 years.
On September 21, 1990, in Plymouth, MI, he married Florence M. Ciofani who survives. Also surviving are 2 brothers, Frank (Darlene) Stroyan of Johannesburg, MI, David Stroyan of Plymouth, MI, 3 sisters, Pat Kraetz of Lake Elsinore, CA, Sheree Chapman of Livonia, MI, and Mary Ann (Michael) Dix of Westland, MI.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter Lisa Marie Stroyan, 4 siblings, Debbie Guthart, Harvey Stroyan, John Stroyan, Douglas Stroyan as well as his parents, niece Nicole Stroyan-Eccleston, and brothers in law Max Guthart and Norm Kraetz.
Funeral services will take place on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at 12 noon at the Trinity Fellowship Church, 401 State St., Boyne City, MI, 49712, Pastor Paul Wise and Pastor Chuck Hoffman will officiate.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the beginning of services at church.
Interment with military honors will immediately follow in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Boyne City.
Following graveside services, the family will have a luncheon at Christ Lutheran Church, 1250 Boyne Ave., Boyne City, MI, 49712.
Arrangements are in the care of the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
