Aric Flint McCarthy, 48, of Mancelona, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 30, 2025.
He was born on July 1, 1976, in Marquette, MI, the son of David and Susan (Nicholson) McCarthy.
Aric was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
He loved spending time with his family and cooking for them. He enjoyed many outdoor activities, especially fishing and camping, had a love for animals and was a die hard Detroit sports fan.
Surviving are his parents Pastor David (Susan) McCarthy of Kalkaska, a brother David “Ryan” McCarthy of Kalkaska, 2 sisters, Megan (Robert) Pitts and Colleen McCarthy both of San Antonio, TX, his paternal grandmother, Delores Meagher of Bay City, MI, and 5 nieces and nephews, Micah, Noah, Lyla, Elijah and Jonah.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Barbara and Charles Nicholson, paternal. Grandfather James McCarthy, aunt Maryann Coulter, and aunt and uncle Kerry and Scott Dean.
A funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, at the Mancelona Baptist Church with Chaplain USAF Major Robert Pitts officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 12:00.
