Barbara J. McCarthy

Barbara Jane Knapp McCarthy passed away peacefully on August 12th, 2025 at the age of 83 after a battle with cancer.Born on July 22nd, 1942 in Philadelphia, Pa to James C. Knapp and Catherine Cecilia Daw Knapp.Barbara was throughout her life a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a lovely great grandmother. She spent lots of time with her family and nothing made her light up and bring out her soft side like all of her grand children and great grandchildren. She was steadfast in her opinions and never failed to make anyone laugh with her humor, whether intentional or not. She loved the beach and the ocean and relocated to New Jersey decades ago to be close to the water. Barbara loved to dress up and was dressed to the nines until the very end. She loved sweets, soap operas, her crime shows, reading to her great grandkids, going to the crab trap and karaoke to hear her granddaughter and daughter sing.She is survived by her eldest daughter Elizabeth Anne Kostans and her husband John, her youngest daughter Barbara Joy Koch and her husband Frank. Her grandchildren Sarah Joy Gaskin, Megan Corkum and her husband James, Matt Kostans and his fiancée Brittani David, Madison Koch, and Abigail Koch. As well as her great-grandchildren Noah, Finn, Willow, Mason, and Marlee.We take comfort that she is now with her middle daughter Susan. Mommom will be forever missed.t
