George Robert Surovec, age 86, of Lakewood, Ohio, passed away on February 8, 2026. He was born on April 28, 1939 to the late Stephan and Anna Surovec.

George lived a life rooted in family, faith, and quiet strength. On May 30, 1964, he married the love of his life, Constance, with whom he shared 54 years of devotion until her passing on April 5, 2019. Their partnership was a constant source of joy, resilience, and love for all who knew them.

He is survived by his cherished children, Pamela (Steven) Lubowicz, Kimberly (Jeffrey) Roth, and Sherry (Ronald) Pirro. George took immense pride in his grandchildren-Marissa, Matthew (Emily), Jacob (Morgan), Megan, Mariana, and Carsen-and delighted in the next generation, his great grandchildren Wesley and Trevor.

George is also survived by his siblings Steven (Janet), Patricia, James (Christine), Mary Jane (Randy), Robert (Constance), Dennis (Denise), and Ronald (Christine), as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and countless other family members and friends who were blessed by his presence.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Constance, and by his sisters Elizabeth (Peter) and Anna Mae, who welcomed him home with open arms.

George will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his unwavering loyalty to those he loved, and the quiet wisdom he carried throughout his life. His legacy lives on in the family he nurtured, the relationships he treasured, and the many lives he touched with kindness. May his memory be eternal.

Visitation will be held at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 from 8:45 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. We will be processing from the funeral home to St. Mark Catholic Church, 15800 Montrose Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44111, where the Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Immediately after the mass, interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park, Westwood-Abbey Mausoleum, with fellowship to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in George's honor by mailing to Sts. Joseph & John Alumni Association 12580 Pearl Road Strongsville, Ohio 44136 with memo to the preschool Or to St. Mark Catholic Church.
