A memorial service for George "Tom" Thomas Weber 77, of Mankato, MN, formerly of Fairmont, MN, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont with full military honors following the service by the Lee C. Prentice American Legion Post #36 and the Martin County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1222. Burial will be held in Lincoln Township Cemetery near Dolliver, IA. Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of service from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont, MN. Tom passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025, in Mission, TX. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with the arrangements.
George "Tom" Thomas Weber was born December 21, 1947, in Estherville, IA, the son of George Thomas and Violet "Vi" Viola (Mortensen) Weber. He grew up in the Dolliver and Gruver area and attended Lincoln-Central School graduating with the class of 1966.
On May 12, 1967, Tom was drafted into the United States Army and served his country proudly during the Vietnam War. He was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO and Fort Polk, LA where he received his AIT training before going overseas to serve in Vietnam. Upon his return stateside in October 1968, Tom was stationed at Ft. Hood, TX, and received his honorable discharge on February 12, 1969.
Tom was united in marriage to Linda Sunde and the couple was blessed with two sons, Todd and Travis.
Tom worked for John Morrells Company for 16 ½ years before working for Arts Way & T.G. Industry for 10 years. Tom then finished his working career working at Fairmont Foods for 13 ½ years in addition to farming for many years before retiring in December 2008.
On June 8, 1996, Tom was united in marriage to Rosemary Eiynck in Fairmont, MN. The couple made their home in Fairmont before moving to Mankato, MN and enjoying the winter months in Texas.
Tom loved the outdoors and the change of the seasons. In the summer months, Tom took great pride in his lawn and enjoyed mowing. When home during the winter months, he enjoyed a good snowstorm and blowing snow. Tom was an avid hunter and found great joy in the peace that came from quietly sitting in the woods. He treasured spending time with his family and looked forward to visits from them and his grandchildren spending the night and playing cards.
Tom was a life member of the Martin County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1222 and also a life member of the Emmet County American Legion of Armstrong.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Rosemary Weber of Mankato, MN; children, Todd Weber, Travis (Tami) Weber, Wade (Michelle) Johnson and Elaine Johnson; grandchildren, Tyler Palmer, Faith Weber, Aniston Weber, Hayley (Taylor) Fast, Justin (Liz) Freeberg, Max Johnson, Zoey Johnson, and Nixon Hillesheim; two great-grandchildren, Griffin Fast and Mason Fast; siblings, Judy (Bob) McCombs, and Jack (Marilee) Weber; sisters-in-law, Pam Weber, Barb (Gene) Lewellen, and Betty Nelson; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, George and Violet Weber, brother, Mike Weber; sister, Maralee Dollen; brother-in-law, Jim Dollen; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman and Mary Eiynck; and a brother-in-law, Dick Nelson.

I'm so sorry for your loss Todd. Recently losing my father to dimentia it is hard but you get through with the people around you. Please know that we will have you and your family in our thoughts. Take care.
