George M. White

George Michael White, 74, of Brooklyn, NY, passed away peacefully on the morning January 11, 2026 in Tillson, NY where he spent his final years living with his loved ones. Born February 19, 1951, George was a proud Brooklynite, as well as a loving father and husband. A master of multiple instruments from an early age, he was a lifelong musician primarily known for playing drums/congas/general percussion for most of his musical career. A supporter of an underdog to the end, he was a diehard fan of the Mets and Islanders. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his unapologetic and larger than life personality, as well as impeccable taste in music.

George is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia White, their three children, Erica White, Amanda Amico, and Gregory White, his two son-in-laws, Kyle Hicks and Zac Amicio, his sister, Kathleen Ferry, and his nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father George Francis White, his mother Margaret Rose Doyle, brother Thomas White, and niece Erin Hill.

A memorial service and celebration of George's life and music will be held in his honor this spring. George was a lover of all animals, caring for dogs, cats, birds, snakes, and various other furry creatures throughout his life. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Ulster County ASPCA in his memory.
