George and I were colleagues in the English Department. George taught at the Middle School and I at SBHS.

The photo of George captures the spirit of every encounter we had, in- or outside of our teaching roles: joyful, respectful, caring,

No wonder his students loved being in his presence. He cared, respected, and brought joy to his community of learners. He connected.

May we honor George and make the world a better place by fostering those values in our relationships as he did in his.

My sincere condolences on the passing of Mr. Woods. While I wasn't fortunate to have him as a Teacher I was fortunate to have him as a Coach and friend (1978 - 1981) for SBHS Nordic Skiing.

I'll remember him much like the great photo you chose, Smiling and friendly.
