George was born on 9th of Sept 1968 in Mainz-Germany to George "Gene" and Karin Young George Albert Young, 57, of Waukomis Oklahoma, passed away peacefully alongside his family on 23rd Sept 2025 after a lengthy battle of kidney disease.
George moved to Waukomis as a child after his dad retired from the US Army. He attended Waukomis Public Schools and graduated in 1987. He was a talented artist, an amazing football player, a superstar in track and fast as lightning back in the day. After graduating from high school, George joined the workforce and found his love in painting cars, putting his artistic ability to work. He worked for Franklin Motor Co, Steven's Ford and Merlin's Auto Body Shop.
In 1991 he decided to serve his country and joined the Oklahoma National Guard, 45th HHB FA BDE and then transferred to the 1345th, Trans Company serving until 2009 when he was medically retired.
George became a father and his pride, and joy entered the world in December 1994, Tyler Jordan Young.
George enjoyed cooking out with friends and family, playing darts, (I hear he was pretty good). He also enjoyed fishing, and spending time at the lake. He loved to plant rose bushes and other flowers.
George was a kind soul and a would do what he could for anyone, if it meant giving someone his last dollar or the shirt off his back, he always put others before himself.
George was preceded in death by his parents, George "Gene" and Karin Young; step father Andrew Rockers; grandparents Ralph and Jane Young, Albert and Inge Bleses, Raymond Rockers; and several aunts and uncles and cousins. He is survived by his son, Tyler Young (Shelby); four beautiful grandchildren, Ryker, Bentley, Ella, Kali-Lynne;
sister Michele Moritz (Todd); nephew Tre' Moritz (Taylor); great niece Briar; niece Rylee Moritz; aunts, uncles and cousins, both in Germany and here in the US.
The family has requested that you please wear Sooner, or Bengal apparel, as George was a fan of those two teams.
