Georges Henri Bignault III, age 88, of Jasper, Georgia passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at The Retreat at Jasper. He was born May 19, 1937 to Georges H. Bignault II and Mary Hendry Bignault in Savannah, Georgia.
Georges attended Georgia Tech until his senior year when he had a stroke. He later received a degree and taught public school. He served in the military in the 1960s with special missions for the Air Force where he was injured. He then worked for the Corp of Engineers where he worked on Carters Lake and Dam. Through Marian Air Spray in Savannah, he coordinated an aerial spraying for an epidemic of mosquitos in the central United States. He then formed his own company, Georgia Products. He built an ice plant for shrimp boats and processed shrimp.
In Atlanta, he was a member of YMCA. In Savannah, he was a respectable business manager and an active member of the Exchange Club.
Georges had seven children with his first wife, Saralyn Hudgins and was Daddy to his second wife's daughter. His second wife was Gloria McClure.
Georges is survived by his wife, Gloria B. Bignault of Jasper; his younger brother, W. Pascal Bignault of Bloomingdale, Georgia; his children, Michael G. Bignault of Savannah, David W. Bignault and his wife, Sema of Lilburn, Stephen F. Bignault and his wife Michelle of Lawrenceville, James L. Bignault and his partner, Molly Rushing of Cumming, Mary B. Bignault and her partner, Jeff Mitchell of Sandy Springs, Jon F. Bignault and his wife, Ann of Madison, Alabama; thirteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Georges H. Bignault, Jr. and Mary M. H. Bignault; his sister, Mary Georgette Burke; and his eldest daughter, Georgie A. S. Bignault.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
