WEBSTERVILLE-Georgette Rita Coleman, 73, of Westerville VT, passed away on June 14th. After twice overcoming cancer, Georgette eventually succumbed to liver failure. She passed in the presence of her two children, Sulamunn (Sully) and Katidja (Katie) Coleman, who held her hands as she crossed over.
Georgette was born on July 28th, 1950, to Roger and Rita Vigneault in Barre, VT. She completed her primary education at Holy Ghost Grade School in Graniteville. After graduating from Marian High School in 1968, she went on to earn a degree in Nursing from Jeanne Mance School of Nursing in 1971. In 2012, she earned a Master's degree in Theology/Pastoral Ministry at St. Michael's College. Georgette sought her Master's degree so that she could apply her knowledge and education to hospice care. Her Roman Catholic faith was at the heart of her nearly 50-year nursing career.
Since 2009, Georgette had been an active member of the Barre-Tones – a local women's a cappella chorus who performs and competes regionally and internationally. She loved music and singing. In her retirement, Georgette was the coordinator for the Eucharistic Ministry at St. Monica's Catholic Church. Georgette spent her free time conversing with family and friends, reading, baking/cooking, knitting/crocheting, and enjoying her favorite movies and television series. Her greatest joy was spending time with her loved ones.
Georgette was predeceased by her parents, Roger and Rita Vigneault. She is survived by her brothers, Roger, Gerard, and Roland Vigneault, her son Sully and his wife Isabel Coleman, her daughter Katie and her wife Jocelyn Coleman, her three grandchildren, Viktor, Griffin, and Vincent Coleman, and her extended family.
Calling hours will be held at Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home on June 28th between 4:00-6:00pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Monica's on June 29th at 1:00pm. A reception will follow at Millstone Hill Celebration Barn in Websterville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Liver Foundation (liverfoundation.org).
Arrangements are in the care of Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer Street in Barre.
