Georgia Shahan

Georgia S. (Pugh) Shahan, age 70, a resident of Montrose, WV., passed away early Saturday morning, April 5, 2025, at her home while under the care of Mountain Hospice surrounded by her beloved husband Bus and her children, following an extended illness.
She was born on March 7, 1955, in Philippi, a daughter to the late George Earl Pugh and Minerva Gertude (Wolfe) Biggs.
Georgia joined hands in marriage to the love of her life Charles "Bus" Shahan who survives at their home in Montrose.
She dedicated her life to her role as a homemaker, creating a nurturing environment for her children and always being a source of support and encouragement. Georgia leaves behind her children; Johnathan Hunt, and wife Linda, Tabatha McGee, and husband Gordon, Steven Shahan, and wife Teresa, Mary Delong, Michael Shahan, and wife Chasity, brother; Ralph Biggs, and wife Ruth, sister-in-law, Helen Biggs; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son; William "Willy" Morris, brothers; Floyd Henry Menear, Freddie Adams, Charlie Pugh, Samuel Biggs, and Raymond "Pete" Biggs, sisters; Dessie Robinson, Carol Hymes, Edith McGee, and Pam Boring.
Georgia was a Christian by faith, enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, she loved to camp with her family, and she loved being with her dog, Bootie. Georgia's life was a testament to love and devotion, and she will be remembered for her gentle spirit and the strength she brought to her family. While she may no longer be with us in body, her light will continue to shine in the hearts of those she touched. A life well-lived and the lasting impact Georgia has made on all of us. We remember her not with sorrow but with gratitude for the love and laughter she shared.
Family and friends may gather at the Kittle Family Funeral Home 265 Beech Ave., Philippi on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 2pm until 7pm. A funeral service will be conducted at 7pm with the Rev. Cody Shahan as the celebrant. In honoring Georgia's wishes her remains will be cremated.
