Georgiana VonBroock
October 29, 1944-January 31, 2026
Georgiana (Walthers) VonBroock, of
Jupiter, FL, loving wife of the late Emil H. VonBroock, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt and devoted friend to so many whose lives she touched, passed away peacefully at the age of 81.
Georgiana was a native of
Queens, NY, born on October 29, 1944 to Margaret B. (Stephenson) and George H. Walthers. She spent most of her life in
East Northport, NY and
Stroudsburg, PA. The oldest of five, she was always helping and caring for her younger siblings -- and here a nurse was born. She graduated from the Monroe County Vocational Technical School Practical Nursing program in East
Stroudsburg, Pa. She loved caring for her patients, spending most of her career as a home health care nurse, driving the back roads of the Pocono Mountains.
As an active member of her community, she enjoyed volunteering, socializing, participating in bowling leagues and creating long lasting friendships. She was one of the founding members of General Ambulance Corps in
Stroudsburg, Pa, and a CPR Instructor for the American Heart Association. She was a member of the Stroud Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the East Stroudsburg Elks Club and The Ridgeway Red Hat Society of Hobe Sound, FL. She was a volunteer at the Stroud Township Fire Hall Kitchen, the Christ Hamilton Church kitchen committee, and summer bible camp. Georgiana was very proud of her children and spent most of her time volunteering as a Brownie leader, Girl Scout Cookie Mom, Football Mom, Sunday School teacher, and any other organization that needed assistance. She was always their biggest supporter for whatever sports they participated including twirling competitions, softball, football and wrestling.
In her later years, she moved to South Florida where she continued to help anyone in need, volunteering and enjoyed a busy life. She often helped within her community with clubhouse activities, organized ladies lunches, and played a tough game of bocche. She was known to put the needs of others first and always showed up. She was a social butterfly at heart.
Georgiana was always seen with her loyal companion, a bichon poodle, Cooper. They would spend their days going for walks at a park or on the beach, playing with toys, or just sitting on the couch watching TV together. Upon moving to an Independent Living Community, they made lots of friends and spread smiles to everyone they saw.
She is survived by her siblings John Walthers (Joyce) of Coram, NY, Wendy Bernier (Roger) of
East Northport, NY and Robert Walthers of Lincoln, NH, her three children, Tracy Elling of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Georgiana Johnson of Lexington, NC, Scott D. Johnson (Lisa) of Maryville, TN, her grandchildren, Daniel S. Berman (Kelly), Tyler S. Johnson, Kaitlyn M. Carter (Daniel), Amy Cabrera (Danny), AJ Pulli, Brent Pulli (Kristina) and Steven McKeown and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Emil H. VonBroock, to whom she was married for 18 years, son-in-law Bradley P. Elling, and brother James H. Walthers.
