Meryl Ann DePue

Meryl Ann DePue, 88, of Kunkletown, PA, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Mahoning Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Lehighton, PA.

She was the loving companion of 18 years to John Swolensky.

Born on October 20, 1937, in Kresgeville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mitchell J. Kreger and the late Edith A. (Getz) Kreger.

Meryl was a lifelong member of Salem St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kresgeville, PA. She worked as a home daycare provider for several years and later worked in healthcare as an LPN, eventually retiring from Pleasant Valley Manor, Stroudsburg, PA. She also worked attending to exhibits at the West End Fair for several years. Meryl loved music, singing in the church choir and was a former member of the Pocono Mountain Singers. She enjoyed working in the Salem St. Paul's church stand at the fair and was a former member of the Polk Township Ladies Auxiliary and several senior citizen groups. Most of all, she was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, companion, and friend. Meryl will be deeply missed by all her friends and family.

In addition to her companion, John, she is survived by her sons, Gregg DePue and his wife Brenda, Kim DePue and his wife Cynthia, David DePue and his wife Trish; grandchildren, Jacquelin Fallstich and her husband Robert, Samuel DePue and his wife Danica, William DePue and his companion Taylor, Spencer DePue; a step grandson, Stefano Tangaro; a great granddaughter, Carli Fallstich; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her former husband, Donald P. DePue, her brother, Mitchell W. Kreger, her sister, Norma Pudleiner, and a grandson, Matthew D. DePue.

A memorial church service will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Salem St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Kresgeville, PA, with Rev. Deborah Scheffey officiating.

The Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville, PA, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
