Georgine Zieger Obituary

Georgine M. Zieger, 81, of Center Valley, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, August 26, 2023. She was the loving wife of Frank E. Zieger, with whom she shared 34 years of marriage until his passing in 1996. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late George E. and Helen (Klusek) Bobby. A 1959 graduate of Central Catholic High School, Allentown, she was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Limeport. Her love of nursing took her to St. Agnes School of Nursing, Philadelphia, graduating in 1962. She was a registered nurse at the former Allentown Osteopathic Hospital for her entire nursing career in various assignments. Georgine enjoyed traveling and dining out with her husband Frank, going to casinos on bus trips, playing Gin Rummy with her childhood friends, attending high school and nursing school reunions and just spending time with her children and their families during the holidays and at family gatherings. She was most proud to be called "Nanny" by her five grandchildren: Katherine "Katie", Matthew and Luke Foster and Daniel and Cameron Bodisch. She attended as many of their school activities as she could. Her family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to her extended care team at The Pine Run Health Community, Doylestown and the Doylestown Health Hospice for all the loving support they provided Georgine during her residency.

Survivors: son, Edward Zieger of Center Valley; daughters, Diane Foster and husband Scott of Center Valley and Beth Ann Bodisch and husband Darrin of Doylestown; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Zieger of Alburtis; She was predeceased by her son Frank E. Zieger in 2021 and her brother George E. Bobby in 2020.

Services: 11 AM Saturday, September 2, in the Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden Street, Bethlehem, followed by interment in Holy Saviour Cemetery. Calling hours will be 9:30 – 11 AM Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Doylestown Health Hospice.

your mother was in my home room for 4 years, such a sweet person, but my fondest memory of her was at our weekly (except during lent!) friday night dances in mason hall. Your mom and dad, frank, would be slow dancing with him towering over her, holding her close and with his lips pressed against her forehead. RIP Georgine

How very saddened I was to learn of Georgine's passing. We were classmates in high school and shared many happy memories. We were in homeroom for 4 yrs. together and went on bus rides to basketball games. She was very special and fun to be with. I can still remember her and Frank walking through the halls together at CCHS. Such great memories.
Please be assured of my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. I am sure she and Frank are happy to finally be together again. May she rest in peace.
