Georgios Kollias

Georgios Kollias, 85 of Fairfield, NJ passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him.

Born in Eretria, Evia, Greece, Georgios was the cherished son of the late Dimitrios and Maria (née Touloumitzi) Kollias. He was raised in Greece and later immigrated to the United States, initially settling in Upstate New York before making his home in Fairfield. Georgios built a proud career as a pharmacy technician with Abbott Pharmaceutical in East Hanover before retiring. He was a simple man, who enjoyed taking long scenic drives and drinking Dunkin' Donuts coffee.

Affectionately known as "Georgie," he was known for his generous heart, kind smile, and gracious hospitality. His home was always open-and filled with good food, laughter, and the feeling of family. Georgie made everyone feel welcomed.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Alicia (née Hurtado) Kollias. Though he had no children of his own, he was a cherished father figure to his many nieces, nephews, and their families. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 15th at 11:00 a.m. at the Dover Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church, 21 Hudson Street, Dover.
