Gerald Allard Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Covington Funeral Home on Dec. 23, 2025.
Gerald "Jerry" Allard passed from this life December 22nd, surrounded by his family. He was 90 years old.
Jerry was born in Nasonville, Rhode Island, the sixth child of Narcisse and Marie Allard. He graduated from Woonsocket High School, meeting Barbara, the love of his life, on their daily bus rides home. After graduation, Jerry enlisted in the Marine Corps where he specialized in avionics and aircraft instrumentation systems. He was a career Marine, retiring as a Master Sergeant after 21 years of service, which included tours of duty from Hawaii to Okinawa, Japan, to Quantico, VA, Beaufort, SC, and Millington, TN. During this time, he and Barbara started their family and raised three children. After leaving the Marine Corps, Jerry began a new career in instrumentation and process controls, working for several companies in the Memphis area. He also completed his lifelong goal of attending college and was a proud graduate of Christian Brothers University.
As retirement neared, he oversaw the building of his and Barbara's dream home in Burlison. His leisure years were spent traveling the world with Barbara, playing golf at Glen Eagle in Millington, and on his tractor maintaining his property. He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Frayser.
Jerry is survived by his three children; Jeff Allard (Kendall) of Pikeville, TN; Mark Allard of Randolph; and Leslie Addison (Stan) of Piperton, TN. He also leaves seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Barbara.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 27, 10:00am - 12:00pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. A short service will follow, with a military burial at Randolph Cemetery in Randolph.
