David Allard Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Acton Funeral Home on Jan. 17, 2026.
David James Allard

David Allard, beloved son, brother, and uncle, died suddenly on January 12, 2026, at the age of 58. Dave made his home in Maynard. He was born on October 31, 1967, in Minneapolis, the son of Luanne and Bill Allard of Sudbury, and the brother of Bob Allard of Tucson and Terri Gilbert of Merrimac, MA. He is also lovingly remembered by his in-laws Dave Gilbert and Gina Allard and his nieces and nephews-Capt. Jake Gilbert and his wife Allie, Tony Allard, Maggie Gilbert, Jack Allard, Sarah Gilbert, and Charlie Allard.

Dave grew up in Middletown, NJ, and was a talented athlete in many sports, especially wrestling. His discipline and accomplishments in the sport led to his serving as captain of the Lincoln-Sudbury High School wrestling team for 2 years.

After earning a BA from the University of Rhode Island, Dave built a career in a variety of mostly service oriented roles, most recently as a Security Officer at Emerson Hospital.

Although an independent man, Dave was known for his quiet strength and compassion. Dave always took a sincere interest in others. Those fortunate enough to know him will remember his thoughtfulness. Some describe him as a gentle soul due to his caring nature and his desire to help others.

A Prayer Service will be held at Acton Funeral Home 470 Massachusetts Avenue (Rte 111) Acton (actonfuneralhome.com) on Saturday, January 31st at 11:00AM. Burial Services at St. Bridget Cemetery in Maynard will be scheduled in the spring.
