Memorial Services will be held for Mr. Gerald B. Allen, SR, age 83, at Calvary Baptist Church, 1993 HWY 3062, Homer, LA, on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Steve Beard, officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 10-11 a.m., prior to the service.
Gerald Bruce Allen, SR, age 83, was born January 15, 1942, in Delhi, LA, to Neville and Pauline Britt Allen. He entered into rest on November 8, 2025, in Minden, LA. Gerald grew up one of six boys and graduated from Central High School in Delhi, LA. He was a former Cost Accounting Clerk at Superior Supply Company in Shreveport for over twenty years. After retiring, Gerald worked for Frymaster in Shreveport as a Cost Accounting Clerk for approximately ten years before moving to Homer. He also owned his own tax business helping people with income tax returns. Gerald also worked with for Find A Grave website to update information to help with markers and ancestral backgrounds. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church where he served his LORD and Savior. Gerald loved to be outside and enjoyed picking pecans.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Wayne Allen, Thomas Allen, Reginald Allen, and David Allen.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Ann Short Allen; two daughters, Dannita Allen and Terrie Springer both of Shreveport, LA; son, Gerald B. Allen, JR and wife Mary of Blanchard, LA; mother of his children, Patricia Woods; brother, Preston Allen and wife Kathy of West Monroe, LA; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Gerald’s family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Kirtan Koticha and Minden Medical Center ICU Staff for the care and compassion shown him during his final days.
In lieu of flowers honoring Gerald, his family suggests memorials be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 1993 Hwy 3062, Homer, LA 71040.
