Gerald William Bohanan, Jr., 65, affectionately known as "Bo," passed away on July 13, 2025, in Douglasville, Georgia. Born on May 13, 1960, in San Diego, California, to the late, Gerald William Bohanan, Sr. and Ida Jane Kennedy he dedicated his life to his family, career, and the many passions that brought him joy.
Throughout his career, Bo was a dedicated welder, a profession he embraced since his high school years. His strong work ethic earned him the respect of colleagues and employers alike. Known for his loyalty and commitment, he spent decades mentoring others in the craft of welding, sharing his expertise with the next generation. He was a quiet man of few words but carried a wealth of knowledge, which he imparted generously.
Bo's compassionate nature extended beyond his professional life; he was especially fond of animals and had a particular affection for critters and cats. In addition to his dedication to work and wildlife, he enjoyed cave exploring and had a keen interest in bats. Another cherished pastime was riding his mini bike, a reminder of simpler times filled with adventure.
A proud veteran, Bo served honorably in the Army for several years, an experience that shaped his values and his sense of duty. His contributions to his country reflected his belief in hard work and resilience.
As a family man, Bo was adored by his loved ones, who held him in the highest regard. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Bohanan, and his beloved daughters: Elizabeth and (Michael Brown) of Arab, Alabama; Jessie Bohanan and (Josh Blanchette) of Cartersville, Georgia; and Erin Bohanan of Dallas, Georgia. He is also survived by his sisters, Linda and Kelli Bohanan of Knoxville, Tennessee, and his granddaughter, Eva Brown.
Bo will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his deep love for his family and his unwavering support as a role model to his children. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
According to his wishes he will be cremated, no service is planned at this time.

So sad to hear of his passing. Last time I saw him was a few years ago. A GOOD man. He will be missed. Prayers to his family.

Joe was always a mild mannered, gentleman. Very much like his daddy´s temperament. He invited my daughter to his senior prom, and she felt so honored to be asked by him. I´ll always think of him as a kind, caring, gentle soul. A treasure not found often enough in life! His presence, or the lack of it, will be a void for humanity.
