On Wednesday evening, June 25, 2025, at 6:13 p.m., an angel of God, appeared and whispered into the ear of our beloved, Gerald Lloyd Brumfield Sr, and called him home. Gerald was born into the union of the late, Jackie Brumfield Sr. and Naomi Josephine Jones, on May 21, 1963. He was affectionately known as Geroid.
He accepted the Lord at an early age and was baptized by the late Rev. Emmanuel Mcfield at Pleasant Green Baptist church. Gerald was a 1981 graduate of McKinley Senior High School and was employed at Louisiana State University at the time of his passing. He will always be remembered for his chef skills, trash talking and affectious personality.
Gerald was the father of Rochelle Brooks, Jason Jackson, and Tyquencia Stafford. On May 21,1988, Gerald was joined into Holy Matrimony with Pamela Prater Brumfield. From that union he fathered Gerald Brumfield Jr, Brenda Gayle Brumfield, Brandon, and Brandy Prater.
He leaves to cherish his memories, mother, Naomi Josephine Jacobs, his two brothers: Jackie Brumfield Jr, Michael Fitzgerald (Lisa) Jones, one sister, Angela (Antonio) Bridgewater. Seven children: Rochell Brooks (Clarence) Jackson, Jason (Tierrani) Jackson, Tyquencia Stafford (Roddrell) Franklin, Gerald (Karen) Brumfield Jr., Brenda Brumfield (Adonis) Forbes, Brandon (Jovan) Prater, and Brandy Prater. 21 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and a host of uncles and aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. Gerald is preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Brumfield, his father Jackie Brumfield Sr., his stepfather Harry Jacobs Jr, maternal grandparents Auldon (Ruby) Jones.
