Gerald (“Jerry”) C. Cole, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, in Charlotte, Michigan, at the age of 75. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Jerry was born on December 3, 1950, in central Michigan. He was a proud veteran who served in the United States Navy. He was employed at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan for many years prior to his retirement in December of 2016. He was fiercely independent, but also a loving and steadfast companion to his family and friends.
Jerry was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and golfing. He was fond of spending time with his local community at the Moose Lodge in Charlotte. He was a talented mechanic, craftsman and woodworker. Finally, Jerry was a devoted University of Michigan basketball and football fan.
He is survived by daughter Sarah, son Chris, daughter in law Julie, grandchildren Austin, Breanne, Jemma, Heath, Braeden, his loyal cat Scooter, and many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved wife Rosemary.
Jerry’s sharp sense of humor, and his love of family, friends, and nature will never be forgotten.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
