Gerald S. Dunson, age 68 of Mentor on the Lake, passed away January, 24th, 2025 at Homestead II Skilled Nursing Home in Painesville, Ohio. He was born June 25th, 1956 in Cleveland, OH to the late Charles and Marjorie Dunson.
Gerry started his career at the railroad in Pennsylvania. He went onto work at Volkswagen in Richmond Hts. and retired after 35 years of service.
Gerry enjoyed playing his banjo in a band with his friends. He had a wonderful dry sense of humor and a big smile that would light up a room every time he entered. He was a very humble and caring man, devout Christian and helped start the Ark ministry for special needs at Kirtland Christian Fellowship Church.
Gerry was the loving brother of Terrence (Trena) Dunson, Sharlene Lucey, Yvonne Kablack, Veronica (Jim) Rice, Marjorie (Gregory) Hobday, Kelly (Rodney Sr.) Ohler and the late Vernon and Allen Dunson; uncle of Terresa Tucker-Dunson, Tamra Dunson, Alisha (Brian) Tanner, Caleb Lucey, Jed (Megan) Lucey, Alex Kablack, Zachary Kablack, Kim (Josh) Pierson, Megan (Brent) Sutton, Melissa Ohler, Angela Dunson and Rodney Ohler Jr.; great uncle of many great nieces and nephews; nephew of Katherine Zarko.
The family will receive family and friends from 10:00-11:00 AM Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 at Kirtland Christian Fellowship Church, 10001 Chillicothe Rd., Kirtland OH. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 at the church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jeff Monreal Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Painesville.
