Gerald A. "Butch" Eckes, 58, passed away at his home on February 24, 2025.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown at 5 p.m., with Rev. Christopher Raiford officiating. Family and friends may gather at Hafemeister Funeral Home for visitation from 2 p.m. until the time of service. To celebrate Butch's memory, the family welcomes guests to wear their favorite NASCAR or John Deere apparel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family if desired.
Gerald Andrew Eckes was born on June 22, 1966, to parents Jerry and Fay (Uttech) Eckes in Watertown, Wisconsin. Butch was a graduate of Watertown High School, Class of 1984.
Butch proudly served as a volunteer firefighter with the Lebanon Fire Department. He had a deep love for the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, riding his four-wheeler, and playing volleyball. When winter arrived, he took to snowmobiling. A devoted NASCAR fan, he especially admired Dale Earnhardt and Jimmie Johnson.
Gerald is survived by his mother, Fay Eckes; siblings, Amanda Pettersen and Jeremy (Carin) Eckes; nieces and nephews, Nicholas (Katie) Felder, Melissa (Terrell) Felder, Clarissa (James) Felder, Morgan (Bill) Miller, and Jared Eckes; aunt, Jane Parlow; uncle, Ed Babcock; as well as other relatives and friends.
Gerald was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Eckes, and brothers-in-law, Randy Felder and Robby Pettersen.
