Gerald L. Fawley, Maj., USAF, Ret., age 85, of Breese, and formerly of Germantown, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Cedarhurst of Breese. He was born July 2, 1940, in Morgantown, WV, a son of the late James and Alice (nee Morris) Fawley.

Gerald married Betty (nee Krumenacker) Fawley on March 24, 1962, in Richmond, IN, and she survives in Breese. In addition to his loving wife, Gerald is survived by his children, Marcia (Jeff) Wuebbles of Germantown, Patricia (Joel Broumley) Daws of Custer, SD, and David (Claire Anderson) Fawley of Sandy Spring, MD; grandchildren, Mariah Esplund, Zach (Ashley) Esplund, Jeffrey (Emily) Wuebbles, Joseph (fiancée, Tori Voyles) Wuebbles, Nick Bauer, Sarah (Achiel) Pype, Brittany (Pierce) Benlian, Benjamin Fawley, and Ian Donahue; great-grandchildren, Miles, Madison, Jack, Zoey, Ezra, Madisin, Beatrix, Brixton, Achiel, Otto, and Oliver.

Gerald was preceded in death by siblings, Glenn Fawley (twin), Russell (Dorothy) Fawley, Dale (Mary Lou) Fawley, Robert (Florence) Fawley, and Ruth McCrum.

Gerald proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for twenty years as an officer and special agent for the Office of Special Investigations (OSI), achieving the rank of Major before his retirement. He was a proud Vietnam veteran. Following his distinguished military career, he continued his service to his nation through twenty additional years in Civil Service in Washington, D.C., working as a Special Investigator for OSI.

Graveside Service will be Monday, November 17, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO with full military honors accorded.

Memorials in honor of Gerald may be made to the Parkinsons's Foundation and will be received by mail at Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St., Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
