Larry K. Harrison, age 69, of St. Rose, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2025, at HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese. He was born February 22, 1956, in East St. Louis, a son of Nelda (nee Hammers) Dix of Trenton and the late David Harrison.

In addition to his mother, Larry is survived by his loving wife, Barb (nee Schumacher) Harrison of St. Rose, whom he married May 23, 1981, in Highland; children, Mike (Lori) Harrison of Highland and Richie (Nikki) Harrison of St. Rose; grandchildren, Amanda Raterman, Michael (Cait) Harrison, Travis (Carrigan) Raterman, Michelle Harrison, Lance (special friend, Ashley) Raterman, Brett (special friend, Jasmine) Harrison, Brooke (special friend, Gavin) Harrison, Bryna Harrison, and Remi Harrison; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, David (Kathleen) Harrison of Highland; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Karen (Stan) Frey of Highland, Janet (Craig) Taylor of St. Rose, Jeannie (Harold) Schellenger of Highland, and Lynn (Bill) Fougeron of St. Rose; and nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, David; step-father, Harvey Dix; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Ruth (nee Rosen) Schumacher.

For forty-one years, Larry worked at National Steel as a wastewater treatment plant operator, where he was a dedicated employee and proud member of the Steelworkers Union Local 1250. He was also a member of ABATE of Illinois and valued the camaraderie and friendship of his fellow members.

Larry had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. Whether he was boating, fishing, or spending time at the clubhouse, he found peace and joy in nature. Above all else, Larry cherished his family, every moment shared with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was a memory he held dear.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese with Deacon Glenn Netemeyer officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:30 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to the St. Rose Fire Department or wishes of the family and will be received at the visitation or by mail at Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St., Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
