Gerald P. Finzel

Gerald P. Finzel, age 84, of East Dubuque, passed away on June 13, 2025 after a courageous battle with heart disease.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 10:45 am Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory.
The Funeral Service for Gerald will be at 11:00 am Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory with Deacon Jamie Schilling officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Madonna Kay Finzel, in the family mausoleum at Mount Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
Born in Davenport, Iowa, Gerald was the son of Lambert and Margaret (Steger) Finzel. He graduated from the University of Iowa and enjoyed a long and fulfilling career at John Deere Dubuque Works, retiring in 1992.
Gerald is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Jeni (Russell) Wolbers of Dubuque and Jodi (Ric) Wegrzyn of Lansing, MI; and by his cherished grandchildren, Dylan Wegrzyn, Brandon Wolbers, and Ryan Wolbers.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Madonna Kay (Meyers) Finzel; his granddaughter, Stephanie Wolbers; his brother, Dennis Finzel; and his sister-in-law, Judi Meyers.
