Gerald Gustafson Obituary
Gerald "Gus" LaVerne Gustafson, 78, of Funkstown, MD passed away peacefully Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Doey's House, Hagerstown, surrounded by loving family.
Born on October 12, 1945 in Corry, PA, he was the son of Phyllis Irene (Foster) Richardson.
Gus served in the U.S. Air Force.
Gus made a career in the U.S. Air Force, having retired in 1983. After which, he started to work for Breyer's/Good Humor, Inc. as a Maintenance Technician, having retired in 2011.
Gus loved the New York Yankees, Pittsburgh Steelers, driving around in his 2004 Jeep Wrangler, and enjoyed fishing in the creek.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Susan Diane (Rubeck) Gustafson; Daughter, Melissa Farley and husband, Joshua, of Fairplay, MD; Grandchildren, Chas and Ruthie; Brother, Cliff Gustafson (Mary); Sister in law, Kathy Klick (Dennis) and Niece, Megan Sarber.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Doey's House, 11370 Caring Pathway Ln, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
Arrangements were made with J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD, and online condolences can be offered at www.jldavisfh.com.
