Gerald Wayne Hammock, age 80, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2025. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 24th at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home. Burial will be at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Hammock was born in Moultrie, Georgia on November 7, 1945, to the late Ralph Lee Hammock, Sr. and Audrey McCullar Hammock. He was a 1963 graduate of Baldwin High School and was retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a Marine Veteran and served his country during the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by his siblings James M. Hammock, Yvonne Burch, Elaine Hawkins and Ralph Hammock, Jr.
Survivors include a son David Hammock, two daughters Sheila McClain and Mary Woods, all of Milledgeville, four grandchildren, Matt Johnson, Lauren Johnson, Noah McClain and Jacob Hammock.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
Friends who wish may make memorial contribution to Animal Rescue Foundation.
