Jerry Ingalsbe, returned home to his Father in Heaven surrounded by his family on March 9th, 2024 at the age of 81. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on 31 December 1942 to Glenn and Barbara Ingalsbe. Jerry had the ability to turn ordinary moments into unforgettable memories, creating a legacy that will endure long after his departure.
Jerry, a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, lived his life in accordance with his faith. Jerry graduated from Utah State University in June of 1965 and commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force at that time. On September 24, 1965 Jerry married the love of his life and forever sweetheart, Pam. Jerry had an honorable and rewarding 25 year career in the United States Air Force as a security police officer. In 1967, Jerry answered his nation's call and deployed for a one year tour of duty to Vietnam. It was here that he earned the Silver Star and the Bronze Star with the V device for his gallantry and valor in combat. During his military service, he was a respected and revered leader, commander, and brother to all those he met. He retired in 1990 as a full bird Colonel and the highest decorated Security Police in the Vietnam War. Jerry was a fun, loving, and steadfast presence in his family's life, always ready with a good joke, a gentle hug or a loving word.
Jerry is survived by his beautiful wife, Pamela, and their six children: Misti (Paul) Anderson, Holly (Vinnie) Cirelli, Amy (Reed) Christofferson, Lindi (Casey) Pratt, Jared (Sarah) Ingalsbe, and Torri (Corey) Cook. He also leaves behind a legacy of love in his grandchildren: Davis (Jaime), Kennedy (Travis), Bailey, Vinnie Jr., Alli (Patrick), Chelsey, Beth, Aodan, Nick, Jax, Reese, Hunter, Easton, Ethan, Ava, Isla, Ella, and Collins and two great grandchildren, Quinn and Ivy. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara and Glenn Ingalsbe.
A Celebration of Jerry's Life will be held on Sunday, March 17 from 2-5 pm at the Copper Nickel, 2450 Grant Ave. Ogden, UT 84401.
Jerry was interred with full Military Honors at Myers Evergreen Memorial Park. Services entrusted to Myers Mortuary of Ogden.
