Mr. Gerald “Jerry” Lee Endert, age 84, our loving, caring, hardworking, and supportive husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Jerry was born in Detroit, MI, on April 5, 1939, to Harold & Oline (Fox) Endert. He was raised alongside his nine siblings and graduated from Caro High School. In his younger years, Jerry like to drag race and drive fast. Later, Jerry honorably served in the U.S. Army and was active in the American Legion Post #15 in Vassar. Further, Jerry retired from GM. He was also a longtime member of the Mayville Eagles and Willow Springs Golf & Country Club. He met the former, Mildred “Millie” Traver, through family. The two were wed on July 2, 1966, and together they shared 57 years of marriage, raising their four children, and countless memories. Jerry was also an avid bowler, having accomplished game scores of 298 and a perfect 300. He also loved the game of golf and time spent hunting, fishing, and woodworking. Above all, Jerry loved his family, especially being a husband, father, and grandfather to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Millie; children: Tina (Brad) Dunham, Vicki (Larry) Roggentine, Jerry (Kelly) Endert, Velma (Nathan) Hall, special family friends Annette (Brian) McLaren; grandchildren: Bradlynn & Mike Jusino, Sarah & Dylan Schenk, Jordan (Jacob) Dunham, Ethan Dunham, Randall & Emily Roggentine, Katlynn Roggentine, Reese Roggentine, Mike Endert, Ashley & Jake McIntyre, Grace Hall, Josiah Hall, Silas Hall, special friends James McLaren, Michelle Reaver; great-grandchildren: Alexander, Samuel & Gabriel Jusino, Weston, Wilson, Vincent and Remleigh Schenk, Colton Endert, Kinzley McIntyre; siblings: Gaile (Joe) Raniszewski, Ida Stricker, Donald Endert, Joyce Evans, Jackie (Nathan) Grisham; in-laws: Roxanne Endert, Melody Endert, Bob Traver, Violet Wolosonowich, Cindy Howell, Wanda Traver, Brett Thompson, Lyle Traver, Velma & Dan Sinka, Don & Jane Traver, Joyce & Bud Roach, Margaret Hammond; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Harold & Oline; siblings: Kathleen (Toni) & Russell Semrad, Harold & Pamela Endert, William Endert, and Gary Endert; father and mother in-law, Leon & Willie Traver; grandchildren, Laura Dunham and Gregory Endert; in-laws: Richard Evans, Gladys & Chuck Redman, Linda & Jr. Bishop, David Wolosonowich, Frank Howell, Ed & Ina Traver, Bill Traver, Herman Traver, Bea Thompson, Kathy Traver, Dick Lyon; and nephews: Warner Lyon, Mike Lyon, Tracy Stricker, Randy Brown, Kyle Traver.
Jerry’s family will welcome visitors to Hanlin Funeral Home – Millington on Monday, October 2, 2023, from 11 a.m. until the time of Jerry’s 2 p.m. service and military funeral honors.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Legion Post #15 of Vassar.
