Gerald Thomas Johnson

Gerald Johnson, age 82, of Chatsworth and formerly of Dalton, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Linda Johnson; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Maria and Ludwik Mazurek; and grandchild, Kenneth Michael Dixon "Peep".
Gerald was retired from Southeast Whitfield High School where he worked as a counselor. He was an educator for 36 years. Gerald never met a stranger and was the kindest person you have ever met.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Christa Johnson; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Dana Johnson, and Mark "Russ" and Brandy Johnson; daughter, Beth Johnson; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Marie Johnson; grandchildren, Abigail and Emma Johnson, Brandon Smith, Kaden Johnson, and Luke Johnson; and one great-grandchild, Kolsen Smith.
A funeral service will be held at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM with Wayne Finnell officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
