Gerald Dennis Jones, of Mint Hill, North Carolina, also known as Jerry, Dad and Babu, went to his longed-for heavenly home on January 14, 2026.

Jerry was born on April 13, 1949, in Hagerstown, Maryland, to the late Edwin and Naomi Jones. He is survived by his wife Rebecca Lynn, his children: Christopher (Marti) Jones, Timothy (Katie) Jones, Stephen (Emily) Jones and Darylee (Matthew) Yandle; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, brother Kenny Jones and sister Karen King.

Jerry trusted Christ as his savior while attending Damascas Camp in 1967. He studied for the ministry at United Wesleyan College in Allentown, PA and served as youth pastor at Riverside Wesleyan Church following three years as a Chaplain's Assistant in the U.S. Army. Through the 1980's he worked his way into the emerging computer field at Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA, where he was employed for thirteen years. Upon a call to missions Jerry and Lynn became members of Wycliffe Bible Translators and served for 25 years in a variety of roles in Kenya and at JAARS (Jungle Aviation and Relay Services) in Waxhaw, NC. After retirement Jerry continued to serve with UFM/100Fold, ever desiring to see God's word made available around the world. Jerry was a fun-loving guy, generous in gift-giving, enjoyed meals with friends and making people laugh. Spending time with grandson Liam and watching movies were favorite pastimes. He persevered in memorizing and reciting Bible passages until his last weeks. He is greatly missed.
