Gerald "Jerry" Lee Knepper, age 78 of Louisville, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023 after an 8-year battle with Parkinson's and dementia. He was born in Robertsville, OH on November 16, 1944. Jerry graduated from Minerva High School in 1963. He was a Robertsville volunteer fireman in his younger years, he served in the National Guard and retired from the Timken Steel Company after 32 years of service. Jerry had currently attended Paradise United Church of Christ, in Louisville. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Jerry also greatly enjoyed the outdoors particularly trail riding on his bicycle, hunting and boating. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Ida (Muller) Knepper, brother Charles "Charlie" Knepper Jr, and sisters Joyce Stout, Sandra Nash, and Lorraine Lewis. Jerry is survived by his wife, Sharon (Carper) Knepper, brother Stanley (Patty) Knepper, sister Carol Sturms; his daughters Denise (Ken) McKinney, Renee (Don) Harper, Melanie (Doug Cofield) Thomas, Kristine Thomas and Kimberly (Ray Johnson) McCauley. Grandchildren Ashley, Dylan (Michelle), Nicholas, Joshua, Mike (Kasey), Tom, Zack, Kevin, Kyle, Julianna (Alex), Austin and Kelsey in addition to six great grandchildren and many extended family and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday morning, March 23 from 10-11am at Stier-Israel Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin 11am Thursday morning at the funeral home. Jerry will be laid to rest in Union Cemetery, Louisville, OH. A luncheon will be held at Paradise United Church of Christ immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkinson's or dementia charities or any charity of your choice. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.stierisraelfuneralhome.com
