Gerald F. "Jerry" Luthringer

Gerald "Jerry" Luthringer, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, March 26th, 2025 surrounded by his loving wife and family at his residence in Erie.

Jerry was born in Erie, PA on November 19, 1936, the son of the late Otto J and Dorothy (Dudenhoeffer) Luthringer.

He served in the United States Army and upon discharge was a heavy equipment operator, and later Owner of Luthringer Excavating, Inc. in Erie until his retirement.

Jerry is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 67 years, Margaret "Margie" (Cloyd) Luthringer, and their four children Cynthia Krahe (Chris), Jeffrey (Sandra), Daniel (Michele), and Steven (Brenda) Luthringer, 10 grandchildren and their families, including 14 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Otto Jr. (Butch) Luthringer. Uncle Jerry will also be remembered lovingly by many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Besides his parents, Jerry is now reunited with his 3 brothers Paul, Donald, and Thomas Luthringer, as well as many dear friends.

Jerry was very active in the Boy Scouts, serving as Scoutmaster for many years, and was honored with the St. George Medal. He was a lifelong member of Blessed Sacrament Parish and served as an Usher for many years.

Jerry enjoyed many years as a happy "Snowbird" spending winters golfing and relaxing in sunny and warm Zephyrhills, Florida where he joined friends from Erie and met many new friends from across the country and Canada. Jerry also enjoyed woodworking as a hobby and was proud to display and give some of his handiwork away as gifts throughout the years.

Friends may call on Monday at the Kloecker Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc, 2502 Sassafras Street in Erie from 2 pm to 6 pm and are invited to the Funeral Mass on Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1626 West 26th Street, at 10 am.
