Gerald Wayne "Jerry" Lynch, 80, of Bridgeport, passed away Tuesday morning, November 25, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Clarksburg on November 2, 1945, a son of the late Glenn Dale Lynch and Martha Jean (Snyder) Lynch.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years, Doris "Cookie" Lynch, on November 3, 2015.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Unger-Lynch.

Also surviving are two daughters, Dawn Lynch Cummings, of Rhode Island; and Kerri Lynch and her partner Eric Perkins of West Virginia; and a grandson, Jacob Lynch Hoffman and his father Mark Hoffman, both of NC. Also surviving are his step-daughters, Staci Unger and Shawna Unger, both of Bridgeport; sisters-in-law, Mary Anne Lynch of Clarksburg and Judy Lynch of FL; nieces and nephews, Robby Lynch and Kim Childers-Lynch of Bridgeport; Elisa and Al Lugo of Florida; Lori and James Fontanez of Dola; Donna and Todd Smith of Clarksburg; his Aunt Patty Campbell and her daughter Robyn of Lexington, SC.

He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Scott Cummings; his siblings, Bobby Lynch, Jimmy Lynch and Cathy Lynch Bell; and Cheryl and Ronald in infancy; and his nephew Jason T. Bell.

Jerry was a graduate of Victory High School, Class of 1963, and Wheeling Barber College in 1964. He served for 26 years at the Clarksburg Fire Department, retiring in October 1995 as a Captain. He barbered at the Stealey Barber Shop for over 54 years, retiring in 2020. He loved fishing and hunting, and went to Nebraska for 20-plus years for annual hunting trips. He was a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Clarksburg Fire Department.

A graveside service will be held at Good Hope Masonic Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 28, 2025, with Reverend Destry Daniels presiding. A celebration of Jerry's Life will also be announced at a later date.
