Gerald Dale Marshall, 67, of La Porte, IN, passed away on May 9, 2024 at VNA Hospice of Valparaiso.
Gerald was born in La Porte, IN, on June 13, 1956, to Darl C. and Jeannette L. (Rutz) Marshall.
On February 28, 1998 in La Porte, IN, he married Lisa Holt who survives. Also surviving are his 3 sons, Gary (Amy) Marshall of La Porte, Dan (Lisa) Marshall of Rolling Prairie, and Jared Marshall of La Porte; daughter, Lori (Josh) Sullivan of New Carlisle; grandchildren, Taylor Marshall, Rachel (Dallas) Cleek, Brooke Sullivan, Erika Marshall, Noah Marshall, Natalie Marshall, Ethan Marshall, and Anna Sullivan; great-grandchildren, Lane and Sophia Cleek; sister, Amy (Jeffrey) Morris of Kingsford Heights; brothers, David (Recy) Marshall of La Porte, Rory (Sheryl) Marshall of La Porte, and Robert (Debbie) Marshall of Union Mills; sisters-in-law, Brenda Jones of Rolling Prairie and Lana Mitchell of Michigan City; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as his faithful companion, his black lab, Remington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cynthia Marshall; grandson, Bret Sullivan; and black lab, Harrison.
Gerald proudly served in the IN National Guard.
He worked for over 26 years as an automotive technician for La Porte Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM. Gerald thoroughly enjoyed working on cars and attending car shows. Enjoying time with his dogs, Gerald was often found walking them in the La Porte County parks.
A Celebration of Life Service with Military Honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Matt Ohime officiating.
A time of visitation will be held from 3 - 7 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2024, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Cremation will take place following the service.
Memorial donations may be made to VNA Hospice of Valparaiso, 501 Marquette St., Valparaiso, IN 46383 or the Jane Bernard Animal Adoption Center, 2855 West State Road 2, La Porte, IN 46350.
