Gerald F. McConnell, 90, of Oakdale, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025, in South Hills Post Acute.
Jerry was born on August 29, 1934 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Charles and Salome Maloy McConnell.
Jerry was a veteran of the United States Army. After his honorable discharge in 1963, Jerry joined the Pittsburgh Plumbers Union Local #27 where he worked until his retirement in 1996. Jerry had many interests during his lifetime, one of which was the pursuit of a healthy mind and body. He started this quest at a young age training as a boxer where he competed in local boxing matches. This interest lead to a lifelong passion of health and fitness.
Surviving is his sister, Marion Woodward and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Gerald is preceded in death by the love of his life, Evelyn Zollars McConnell, siblings, Patricia Sharkey, Ethel DeFiore, Claire Kozlowski, Craig McConnell, Randall McConnell and Regis McConnell.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 10-Noon at Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc. and Crematory, 5000 Noblestown Road, Oakdale (724-693-2800). A Blessing Service will be held following visitation on Saturday at Noon in the funeral home.
