Gerald "Jerry" George Meininger, age 86, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on October 14, 2024, at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.
Jerry was born on July 23, 1938, in Plymouth, a son of the late Gustave and Alma (Reineking) Meininger. He attended Plymouth area schools and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1956. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Langkabel on January 31, 1959, at St. John Lutheran Church.
Jerry worked at Cleveland Container Corp, later Clevepak, until his retirement in 1998. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling out west, listening to classical music, and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two daughters, Ann (Fred) Savaglio of South Carolina and Jennifer Piper of Tennessee; three grandchildren, Kevin (Crystal) Piper of Tennessee, Carrie Savaglio of Illinois, and Christopher Savaglio of Illinois; three great-grandchildren, Owen, Aubrey, and Jane Piper; two sisters, Judy (Russ) Johnson of Appleton and Julia Miller of Ohio; brother-in-law Roland Langkabel of Oregon; sisters-in-law, Pat Langkabel of Kentucky, and Carol Langkabel of Plymouth.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Gustave and Alma (Reineking) Meininger of Plymouth; father and mother-in-law Emil and Mabel (Hogue) Langkabel of Plymouth; brothers: Karl, Raymond, Jim, and Thomas; sisters: Jane (Keith) Heine, Margaret (John) Smith, Ruth Donovan, and Elizabeth Payne; brothers-in-law: Harold, Norman, Raymond, Edward, Herbert, George, and Donnie Langkabel; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Suchon Funeral Home from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on October 23, 2024, with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 PM. Chaplain Kevin Speath will officiate.
