Gerald “Jerry” Jude Nytes, age 80, passed away on September 27, 2025. He was born on April 7, 1945, to the late Aloys and Edith (Bruecker) Nytes. He grew up on the family farm with his five siblings and learned the value of hard work. He married Joan Doering who was his high school sweetheart, in November 1965, and they began their family who they raised in Kaukauna.
Jerry always had unique cars, trucks and motorcycles. He enjoyed racing figure 8 and ice racing in Minnesota-truly any type of racing was a passion. He Enjoyed working on old cars and liked to see them restored to their original state. Above all he enjoyed spending time on the family farm.
Jerry worked at Badger Northern for many years. While there, he was the maintenance guru. Truly, his skills carried over into his home life as he was skilled at fixing almost anything.
Jerry is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years; daughters Lisa (Joel) Janssen, Penni (Mark) Kramer; grandchildren: Cody (Brooke) Janssen and Dallas Janssen. In addition, he is survived by his brothers and sister: Allan Nytes, John (Sandee) Nytes, Mary Ann (Tom) Nettekoven as well as other relatives and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Robert Nytes; and sister-in-law Bernice Nytes.
Per Jerry’s wishes, his family will celebrate his life privately.
