Gerald Joseph "Jerry" O'Brien, 78, resident of McCormick, husband of Lise Kropfeld passed away on Friday July 18, 2025 at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.
Born in Cincinnati OH, he was the son of James and Izetta Manor O'Brien. Following graduation from Central High School, Cincinnati, Jerry served our nation as a member of the US Air Force. Jerry retired from Cincinnati Inc. as a machinist after many years of dedicated service. An avid golfer, Jerry spent many days on the courses of the Savannah Lakes Village Golf and Country Club. He was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving in addition to his devoted wife of the home are son Mark O'Brien(Zhanna) of Charleston; Daughter Brenda Decker(Doug) of Cincinnati OH; stepsons Scott Kropfeld(Karen) of West Palm Beach Florida and Robert Kropfeld(Christin) of Cincinnati OH; brother John O'Brien(Debbie) of Cincinnati; grandchildren Kayla and Ashley Banks, Vyacheslav Van, Polina O'Brien; and one great grandchild Mackenzie Banks. Jerry will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be conducted at a later date at Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson SC.
Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, at woundedwarriorproject.org.
