In Loving Memory of Gerald Lee Osmond
August 21, 1962 – May 23, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gerald Lee Osmond-lovingly known as Jerry or Ozzy to many. He passed away peacefully on May 23rd, 2025, at the age of 62, surrounded by his family after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Jerry was born to Leon and Mildred Osmond in Saginaw, Michigan on August 21st,1962. A graduate of Carrollton High school where he met the love of his life, Coleen. He went on to have several jobs over the course of his lifetime, always selflessly doing whatever was needed in order to provide for his family. Eventually, Jerry and Coleen relocated to
Roscommon, Michigan where he began his career with the Ford Dealership. After more than 25 years of devoted service under multiple owners, Jerry retired just 3 months before his passing.
Over the years Jerry's hobbies included fishing, hunting, grilling, metal scrapping, and wood working. He was a Jack of all trades and was happy to tinker. It brought him even more joy to share his hobbies with those that he loved.
He was a beloved son, husband, father, papa, brother, and friend. He was known for his warm heart, generous spirit, quiet strength and steadfast devotion to those he loved. His life was full of laughter and kindness-touching everyone fortunate enough to know him. His thoughtfulness extended beyond his family and impacted the lives of many. Whether offering a kind word, a helping hand, or simply his calm, dependable presence, he brought comfort and joy in countless ways. He will be remembered most for being a selfless, hardworking, thoughtful and loving man.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred Dennings and Leon Osmond, and his brothers, Anthony and Andrew Osmond.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Coleen Osmond; his daughters, Emily (Terry) Barb of Gaylord, MI, Cortney (Stephen) Niederer of
Roscommon, MI, and Sarah (David) Herb of Arlington, WA; his son, Jarred (Sarah) Osmond of
Roscommon, MI; and his cherished grandbabies who lovingly referred to him as Papa Fuzzy: Collin McClerren, Landon, Letty, and Mia Barb; Lena, Stephen Jr., Elise, Adele, Isaiah, and Emma Niederer; Makayla and Devon Herb; and Jaydn, Ryder, and Ember Osmond. He is also survived by his siblings, Lynn Rae Putman, Sheryl Scribner, and Steven Osmond, along with many extended family members.
Jerry also leaves behind a close circle of dear friends who became his chosen family-each one holding a special place in his heart.
A Celebration of Jerry's life will be held on Thursday May 29, 2025 from 3-5pm at Calvary Baptist Church of Grayling, Michigan. All who knew and loved him are warmly invited to attend. His family is asking we celebrate his life in true Jerry fashion: T-Shirts, Flannels, Jeans, and Ball Caps.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to his wife, Coleen Osmond, to assist with final expenses during this difficult time.
May his memory live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
