Jerry was born on Sept. 28, 1931 in Sterling to John and Mary (Calame) Schorle and married Betty Jeanne Buckingham on Sept. 28, 1955. He retired from Morton Salt in Rittman after 43 years of service and was a long-time member of First Assembly of God in Wadsworth where he served on the church's board. Jerry loved mowing the grass, doing yard work and gardening. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jerry will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, loving daughters, and grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Betty of 67 years, daughters and sons-in-law, JoEtta and Fred Sheppard of Sterling, Mary and Robin Prinkey of Burbank and Denee Schorle of Seville; grandchildren and spouses, Todd and Katy Sheppard, Tonya and Don Hartwell, Lori Prinkey and Joshua Hartman; great-grandchildren, Spencer, Logan, Bryana, Katie, Nathan, Ayden, Evelyn and Lukas; brother and sister-in-law, Kenny and Sharon Schorle of Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Gay Winebarger of North Carolina, Carolyn Schorle of Florida, Linda Schorle of Ohio and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Janet Maibach, Gene Schorle, Joanne Cohen, Bernard "Pete" Schorle, Ruth Slater, Robert Schorle and Tommy Schorle.
Services will be Tuesday, Jan. 3rd, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Larrison officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Monday, Jan. 2nd from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.

Denise and I visit you from time to time! But I'm sure you already know that! Betty along with Mary, Denee and Joetta are all hanging in there! I myself think of you often and I have fond memories of our talks. I think its more of what you didn't say that left a lasting impression! I honestly believe in your own way you've made me a better person and I thank you for that! God Bless Gerry and rest assured Denise and I will continue to help out where we can!

With a heavy heart I'd like to convey the following. We met Betty and Jerry about 5, years ago when we moved in next door to this wonderful loving couple. Immediately they took us both into there hearts and treated us like family. In that time and even though Jerry had a number if medical issue. Jerry's love for Betty never wavered. My wife and I enjoyed the story where even though Betty and Jerry we're getting on in age. That Jerry would still leave Betty little love notes professing his love for her. His daughter's Joetta, Mary, Denee and Granddaughter Tanya we're always at his side. My wife and I would on occasion would sit and talk with them. Sometimes Id even get a chuckle out of Jerry. But during those times you could see Jerry beaming with Joy just having those ladies who loved him dearly around him. Also during those talks I never heard Jerry say a bad word about anyone. Calm and peaceful he seemed satisfied knowing that he help raise such a wonderful family. Even though he has passed on I know that we have Jerry tucked away in our hearts Now and Forever. For a beautiful man who will be loved and cherished along with truly missed until the end of time! Signed Tony & Denise Castillo
