Richard Allen Cottrell, 67, of Wooster, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Autumnwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rittman after a brief illness with cancer.

Rick was born on April 9, 1958, in Sutton, WV to Joseph Elmer and Gerturde (Rogers) Cottrell and had mad his home in the Rittman area for many years. He had worked at Gilbert Lumber and was recently baptized and welcomed into the Good News United Baptist Church. Rick enjoyed football, baseball, playing corn hole, horseshoes, pool and fishing.

Surviving are sons, Shawn and his wife Amanda Cottrell of Jenison, MI and Richard Cottrell of Rittman; 5 grandchildren, Olivia, Sabastian, Anthony, Elijah and Hayden; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Pam Cottrell of Marshallville, Cecil Gene and Robyn Cottrell of Orrville, Joseph and Pennyann Cottrell of Shreve, David and Brandy Workman of Caldwell and Edward and Crystal Cottrell of Rittman; sister and brother-in-law, Angela and Denver Jarvis of Seville; sister-in-law, Connie Cottrell of Rittman and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Rosalie Clemson and a brother, Roger Cottrell.

A family celebration will be held later with burial in the family cemetery in West Virginia.
