Gerald Eugene Smith, 82 of Blue Springs, MO passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at his residence. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the St. John Lalande Catholic Church in Blue Springs, MO with burial to follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m., until service time at the church. Gerald was born April 6, 1942 in Kansas City, KS and was a lifelong area resident. He had worked as the produce manager for Safeway and other grocery stores throughout his career. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid KC Royals fan. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and had recently attended St. John Lalande Catholic Church. He is survived by 3 sons, Anthony Smith and his wife Melissa of Lone Jack, MO, Matthew Smith and wife Jeanne of Overland Park, KS and Christopher Smith of Independence, MO; 6 grandchildren, Derek, Alison, Jake, Rylie, Reagan and Tyler and 2 great grandchildren, Taytum and Kaden.
