Gerald Speyrer Obituary
He spent his early years in Port Arthur later moving to LaBelle in his early teens. He graduated from Fannett High School in 1954 and became a pipefitter/welder and member of Local 195.
Gerald was a proven outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a radio-controlled model airplane enthusiast.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Jeri; children, Lindy Goodwin (Mike), Dana Kahla, Joni Barrow (Ricky), and Greg Askew (Julie); grandchildren, Christopher Goodwin, Quinten Kahla, Cullen Barrow, Jake Askew (Crystal), and J.T. Askew; 2 great-grandchildren; extended family and family and friends; and faithful dog, Buddy.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, H.J. Speyrer.
A gathering of Mr. Speyrer's family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A private interment of his cremated body will be held at Burrell Cemetery, LaBelle.
