Gerald Oscar Stabenow, born on May 5, 1938, in Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025. Known for his warm spirit and generosity, Gerald leaves behind a lasting legacy in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Roberta Stabenow, as well as his two daughters, Karen (Dennis) Krueger and Kimm (Larry) Harris. Gerald was also a cherished step-father to Steven Epperson. His family continued to grow with the addition of two grandchildren, Lauren Epperson and Amy Roblek, and two great-grandchildren, Alyssa Roblek and Aria Flatley. He shared a special bond with his sister, Ina (the late Mel) Tressler, and he leaves behind a host of other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Gerald had a passion for life that was evident through his hobbies and interests. He was an avid boater, enjoying the tranquility and joy that time on the water brought him. His love for classic cars showcased not only his appreciation for craftsmanship but also his sense of nostalgia and adventure.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Stabenow, and his mother, Grace Stabenow. Their memories, along with the memories he created with his own family, will continue to inspire those he left behind.
Visitation will take place on July 26, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 837 Mid Rivers Mall Dr, St Peters, MO 63376. Friends and family are welcome to gather and celebrate Gerald's life, sharing stories and memories that honor the impact he had on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
