Gerald Swindell Obituary

Gerald was born September 16, 1939 in Doyle, Tennessee to the late Harley Gaines and Alberta Mayes Swindell. Gerald owned Swindell Candy Sales that served stores in the Upper Cumberland for countless years. He enjoyed working so much that he also owned and operated the Kountry Kwik Pic, in addition to his candy route. Gerald was a proud veteran of the National Guard.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife Gail Rice Swindell who died July 2, 2017 and his son Jeffrey Thomas Swindell.
Surviving family members include his daughter Judy Swindell Verble and husband William of Cookeville
Grandson: Brandon Swindell and wife Kelley
Granddaughter: Brandi Baldridge and husband Joe
Great-grandchildren: Owen Swindell and Scarlett Baldridge
Daughter-in-law: Kaye Swindell
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Thursday, October 9, 2025 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors by the Veterans' Honor Guard will follow in Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Thursday at Hunter Funeral Home. Doug Benningfield will officiate.
Hoyt Jones, Brandon Swindell, Adam Stafford, Bo Mullins, Mike Lynch and Jim Henson will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Don Kirby.
