Gerald Lee Thayer

Mr. Gerald Lee Thayer, 73, of Charlotte, NC, died at home on June 10, 2022. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 13, 1948 to Gerald and Virginia Thayer. He joined the Air Force out of high school and was a TSGT E6. He worked as an aircraft mechanic and as of late, was an inspector at PSA Airlines at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. He enjoyed reading, working on model airplanes and was a fan of the Seattle Seahawks. Mr. Thayer was preceded in death by his father, mother and brother, John Thayer. Mr. Thayer is survived by Nancy Bedgood, sister Susan Bodette (Tom), sons Jerry (Connie) and Bryan Thayer (Angie) as well as great nephew, Nick Zajac and many grandchildren. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2pm Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly.
