Gerald W Van Horn

Gerald W. Van Horn passed away May 20 in El Reno surrounded by his family. Gerald was born 7/22/33 in Green Bay, WI to Clifford and Pearl Van Horn. He graduated from Green Bay West High in 1952. He attended Northwestern University on a football scholarship. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior and felt the calling to the ministry. He graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God University. Gerald faithfully served as an ordained minister for over 60 years in Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas. He was member of Discovery Church in Yukon. If you ever met Gerald, it was not long before he would ask to pray for you. Gerald was a wonderful mentor, father, and grandfather to all. Our loss is heaven's gain and we know he is rejoicing in heaven. Gerald was preceded in death by his wife Betty, son's Matt and Bobby. He is survived by his sons and their wives: Mitch and Sherry of Hinton, Mike and Saundra of El Reno, Mark and Doris of Dallas, TX. Grand children: Landon, Desi, Neely, Danielle, Vicki, Lauren, Brittany, Aaron, Jennifer, and Craig. Great grand children: Cadence, Izzy, Ryan, Harper, Shoshannah, Avery, Wade, Leena, Mackenzie, Madison, Dylan, Patrick, and Jack. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Gerald Van Horn will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, May 23, 2022 at Discovery Church (900 E Main St. Yukon, OK 73099). Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at the El Reno Cemetery.
